I must say thank you to all of you that have emailed or posted me about the toubles that Bree and I had and have been going through in regards to being here. We are so grateful to have so many people in our lives that stand behind us with such love and support, no matter where we may go and what we may do.
The reason I haven't posted in such a time is because I have been thinking alot about the things that have been said to us through the blog, things I have been reading that others who have walked a similar path to us here in LA and what they have had to say and been doing alot of great talking with the friends of mine that I live with here in LA and who have been working toward the same things that Bree and I have been fighting for.
I have realized the McHenry will never stop being home to us, no matter how far we roam or how long we stay away. That we came here, with a dream in our hearts and we are living - day by day - that very dream. Some days we have nothing go right and others the whole world falls into our hands. That we came to be actors when we are 90, not to burn out in a few years. And that is when I got my brain working at full tilt, and I saw in us the thing that I didn't want when we came to LA - to grow to doubt ourselves, to question if the was the right choice - and I have known all along that it is the right thing and that this is where we are going to live and grow and work and thrive. The art and the biz is so alive here... this is the field inwhich I wish to plant myself ;-D
...to other news ~
The Resurrection Mary World Premier Screening!
It happens on the 23rd of Oct and will be showing at the World Famous (I am not sure if it really is, just sounds good) Pic Wick Theatre in Park Ridge. There is going to be a big afterparty - AND Bree and I will be home for it (Home for Thursday to Tuesday) Info tickets can be found @ resurrectionmary-movie.com - You should all come out and see it, have a drink with us and we can catch up! It will be amazing fun!
Also I had an audition for the Utah Shakespeare Festival Touring Company of Macbeth to play Macbeth... 70 shows over 4 months in 5 States! (With a bunch of Shows in VEGAS!) I should find out if I am in or not in a week or two, so I will keep you updated on that.
And if I don't go touring as Macbeth I am heading back to Utah for Sundance 2006 in Jan! So one way or another I are going to have ourselves a blast come the new year!
In the meantime, Bree and I have been auditioning for a ton of things - mainly commercials and short films. This week we are beginning a new phase of our plan - building our creative team. We have been running in some small circles for a time and now we are ready to break out and we need help to do, so we have begun research and looking into strong managers and getting out info and our product infront of important people. I had the chance and sent my info to everyone involved in the new James Bond movie because I heard that they wanted an unknown and you don't anymore unknown then me right now =) And Bree sent her stuff into David E. Kelly for advise on how to navigate through the entertainment world - since he gave up Law to go Hollywood like Bree has done... So there are alot of new things in the works.
Scott is still working hard on Till's Alley and we are going to make it into something great come hell or highwater! (Check out the link on the sidebar!)
And today we worked (mainly Bree did, I was more her assistant) location support on a commerical (for Russian TV) at the Daily Grill - and Bree was even it! Now she is going to be on TV on TWO CONTINENTS! Kick ass!
So, things have hit the up-swing, because we have chosen to change the course of our lives and command them again - So I thank you all again, sometimes we need to be held up to the mirror and see what we tend to miss about our lives and for that I thank you.

I have not forgotten...
I have not forgetton about "Today's Post"... Bree and I have been talking, about being actors and about being here... about having a life past this moment. About the big things: our life together, a family, and the where and when of all this. Now, while there is still some time to be had before we are even hearing wedding bells of our own, these are the kinds of things that we need to understand about where we are going with our lives.
Bree doesn't want to raise a family here, away from our families and all of our friends, and I see what she has to say. I don't want that either...
It seems that neither of us view LA as home, and that makes being here so hard sometimes. Even though Nick is here, and I am so glad that he is, being here doesn't feel as right as it did. Don't get me wrong, like I said yesterday, I am not packing up the gear and moving back to the Mid-West anytime soon.
I guess what makes it feel this way is that we don't want to part of the Hollywood game, we don't want to be on the cover of People and we see what someone will do to get that one moment in the sun. And that is not who we are... I had a hard question given to me tonight - Bree and I were at dinner talking this over again and she asked, "Do you want to be an actor, or do you want to be famous"... and I froze... because I didn't really know the answer... and that burned me up inside - because I want to be an actor... and if I become famous because of the world we live in, because of being good at my job, then so be it - but I don't want to be famous, and I think that I have been going about it all wrong out here, as though that was what I was trying to get.
I want to work - as an actor - to pay my bills from acting, which I know is the hardest type of job to have in the whole world, but that is what I want and that is what I came here to get. And I think what we came to realize is, that if I am here and trying and trying and not getting anywhere, there is nothing wrong with going someplace else to see about doing it there... I don't know if that someplace would be New York, or back to Chicago... who knows... I just know that LA is not my home, and I feel like it never will be.
This doesn't change much, really and yet it changes everything... Bree and I are here, for now, working and fighting for our dreams and who knows what the future holds for us, what will become of us here... we know that we have a home in the midwest and a place from which to regroup if things don't go the way that we want them too... but who knows...
So those are my thoughts... and I would love to hear from those of you that read this. I know most read and do not leave a mark of their thoughts, but this is one of those times when I would love to hear the thoughts of those that I hold dear to me.
Thanks for you time
Have a safe and wonderful Holiday

And a return trip
...Oh, you didn't know we had left LA? Well... a little backstory if you please...
for those of you that remember, and some who do not, when it came time for Bree and I to make our move together to LA, she had a house that see needed to part with and no one seemed to want it. One of our very best friends, Steve and Jen, bought it, as a gift to us... and our other best friends, Corey and Beth, now live in this house, renting it from Steve with plans to buy it from them in a year or so. This being the case, we promised Steve that when he opened Jekyll and Hyde at the Steel Beam theatre in September of that year, we would be there in the house for opening night.
Months pass and we kept talking about it and it looked less and less likely to be possible, as money became tighter here with us and Steve's hands became tied up in producing the show... but with the help of a little angel we managed to pull off the biggest of slight of hand I have been apart of to date.
We informed Steve that we could not afford to come, and while he was heartbroken, he understood and did everything in his power to get us there... but it was not to be... or so he thought. We would txt almost daily about the happening and about how the show was going and while the statement that we could not afford to come was not a lie, after we found a way, with a little insider help, we would roundabout txt that we understood he was sad, things would get much better if he would wait and see, and Sunshine is right around the bend.
The look of shock on his face when he saw us was wonderful, and worth everything that it cost to get there. But it was nothing compared to how amazing he was that night! The show was such an amazing treat and I loved every moment of it - and that was what was truely worth the trip back to Chicago. I am so proud of the work that he did that night, the work leading up to it and just how amazing he truely was and is and how he has grown as an actor. It was a great honor to watch him work that night - thank you for that Steve...

...and the trip did other wonders for Bree and I. I got to spend some wonderful time with her family, and that felt just perfect for the first time in my life. I have always gotten along with the parents and family of my girlfriend, but this fit just so perfect... it felt right in a way that it never was before. And that was a great feeling.
I also got to see Corey in the show - and he too was amazing and a pleasure to see him work - and see how hard he has worked on himself- he looked wonderful!
Got to see Scott and Kelly (who gave me a Darth Tater - which is the coolest thing ever!), Beth, Steve and Jen, my parents, Dave and Haystack's Family and Bree's family as well...
...and there has been a change in the way we view being out here... We had a great and wonderful talk about it when we got home... if this truely is home, and that was more what we talked about. Not that I am saying we are coming home (besides the screening and pilot taping...which I have news of too!) anytime soon... but I think Bree and I have a better understanding of why we came here and what we want to do with our time, as well as our lives together, in a much better way that I think we understood, or at least I understood before I came home to McHenry... I never really let it sink in how far away I am, or how much I truely missed everyone and how much I missed McHenry... I am not going to talk to much about it tonight, as I will write more about it in the morning, I want to sleep on my thoughts and come back to this idea fresh... so till tomorrow on that.
But before I go - check out tillsalleyblog.blogspot.com
...I don't want to spoil it, but it is cool!
Till tomorrow - our love and thanks goes out to you all... see you in IL again in Oct.
Good night,
